![]() ![]() Sounds like a pretty drastic claim yes but hear me out. I believe that quite a few people attempted to use Sherwood back then to attempt to traffic children. I digress, I just wanted to make a post regarding the creepy shit I witnessed as a kid on the game and was wondering if anyone had the same experience. There wasn’t too much competition either (Stuff like Club Penguin, Adventure Quest, maybe even Toontown you could say were in the same market but even those weren’t hard-leaning fantasy MMOs like Sherwood was.) When you’d teleport to a different map there were just hundreds and hundreds of players, the game was hot amongst kids at the time cause it like one of the only free, in-browser easy access MMOs back in the late 2000s. I remember every time I’d join the hub with the castle place there was always a clan meeting up with dozens at the main “square”, and dozens more running around. I’m sure the game is like dead dead now, but back in 2008ish I was a kid and played it all the time, and it was sprawling, there were so many people playing. Randomly today this super old MMO popped in my head from long ago, and after searching this game in this subreddit to reminisce, a handful of you have remembered this game as well for being a pretty popular, crappy MMO back in like the late 2000s. If you guys played this game back in the day like I did, This game was used to try to traffic children, hear me out. Sherwood Dungeon is also community based. Mob versus player combat is also unaffected by player level, with the exception of the Dungeon, and the Isle of Ancients. Note that player level does not affect PVP combat (although the player may not have access to certain power moves early game). Experience points can be obtained through many methods, most commonly by defeating monsters and completing quests. To advance to the next player level, the player must obtain a fixed number of experience points. True to its name, Sherwood Dungeon offers an endless dungeon, with leveled mobs and loot. As with traditional RPGs, it also integrates quests, stat-enhancing items, and player levels. It follows a largely skill based gameplay, where the proper use and combination of attacks and blocking are key to successful fights. Sherwood Dungeon is unlike many RPGs in that it does not take levels into account most of the time. However, as both Shockwave and Flash player have been discontinued, this is no longer possible. For a long time, it could be played as a Shockwave, and later Flash game on web browsers. It can be played on mobile devices and as a standalone downloaded executable. Sherwood Dungeon is a free-to-play fantasy MMORPG created by Maid Marian Entertainment Inc. The logo of the game has been changed several times as new versions have been published. ![]()
